About

About Me
My name is Grace K. Meyer and I am a second year doctoral student at the University of Cincinnati's School of Criminal Justice.
About Bourbon and Bluebirds
I opened Bourbon and Bluebirds on March 1, 2024 because I wanted a platform to design and sell embroidery. However, I realized that this was not a good fit and I have since expanded into a more artistic format. Now, Bourbon and Bluebirds is a collection of my research, travel, and artistic endeavors.
Fiber Arts
I love anything related to fiber arts. I started sewing as a child, but now crochet, knit, embroider, needlepoint, and more. I love finding ways to mix travel and fiber arts together, often visiting fiber stores or needlepoint shops on my trips around the world. I primarily work with natural fibers, including wool and cotton.
My Research
My research interests lie in institutional corrections, meaning I primarily work with prisons and jails. I am interested in prison policy and programming, including higher education in prison.
I also collaborate with incarcerated scholars on a variety of academic book chapters and research projects.
